It’s only two years since we put our translation memories on the cloud – but what a change it’s been. Approximately 300 hundred new projects, 100 new or imported TMs, 50 new termbases – we could never have anticipated the extent or applicability of the system right across our client base.
Over 60 of our linguists are now using the new system – that’s probably our most impressive statistic. Out of these, only one or two had used the system previously. And we’re especially proud that some “old-timers”, who had previously resisted using any TM program whatsoever, are now converted.
Ease of file conversion from client’s applications has been a key benefit. All the Microsoft applications, InDesign, FrameMaker, HTML as well as less common applications like POEdit are easily handled. XML functionality is especially powerful and can easily be tailored to client’s individual requirements.
We’re completing large volume translation projects to tight deadlines that previously would have been inconceivable, via multiple linguists in different locations sharing the same TM and termbase – for example a recent invitation to tender for a major telecoms company, delivered within days.
And in the last few weeks we’ve been extending the system yet further via devolved project management, giving better job progressing, quality control and customer care.
