Our current US client writes in FrameMaker so that’s how we’re translating their manuals into Turkish and Lithuanian. The translation tools that we employ work directly on your favourite programs so the formats aren’t lost, in this case via the .MIF interchange format. Likewise, with InDesign, where we’ve produced several complex presentations, against the clock, for a global civil engineering company. The .IDML files that our translators process keep the tags protected and the visual elements snap into place when converted back to InDesign. The same applies to any number of .XML formats that clients send us.
